Over the past six months, Ohana has cherished every moment of family time together, truly living up to our name, which means family. We always strive to ensure that everyone feels loved, valued, and that sense of belonging.
In early February, we kicked off the year with our Silent Disco Gala. Thanks to your generous support, we raised enough funds to take over 250 foster kids and adults with special needs to experience Winter Camp at Young Life’s Lost Canyon in Williams, Arizona. For many, it was their first time seeing snow. Winter camp was filled with snowball fights, snowman contests, dance parties, exciting games and prizes, s'mores by the bonfire, and delicious food. The joy and excitement on everyone's faces was priceless.
Next, we celebrated Easter with over 200 foster kids and adults with special needs. Our Easter event was packed with activities and games, where participants won prizes and enjoyed our unique version of an Easter Egg hunt. Special appearances by Stitch and the EasterBunny made the day even more memorable. This Easter was truly one for the books!
In June, we embarked on our Ohana Summer Family Vacation at Campland on the Bay in San Diego, California. We brought over 100 foster kids and adults with special needs to San Diego for an unforgettable family vacation. We camped in tents, enjoyed amazing food, played games, had dance parties and talent shows, roasted s'mores by the bonfire, rode the rides at Belmont Park, and soaked up the sun at Mission Beach. For many, this was their first time seeing the ocean or even leaving the state of Arizona.
At Ohana, we believe that everyone deserves tohave a family, whether by blood or by choice. These trips and events areessential in creating a sense of belonging and joy for everyone involved. Weare all family, and we are committed to making sure everyone feels that love and connection.
