Each year, over 1,000 young people age out of foster care in Arizona, often stepping into adulthood without the stability or support they need. Lashay was one of them.

Growing up in the foster care system, Lashay faced uncertainty at every turn. When she aged out, she could have become another statistic— struggling with housing, employment, and stability. Instead, she found Ohana. Through our transitional housing program, she gained the support, guidance, and resources to build a future.

Today, Lashay isn’t just thriving— she’s leading. Now a house manager for one of our special needs group homes, she’s providing the same care and stability she once received. Her journey is proof that with the right support, aging out doesn’t have to mean aging out alone.
